Guide to Sharing Content in a Zoom Room Using an iPad or Touchscreen

In this guide, you'll learn how to share content in a Zoom Room using either an iPad or a touchscreen controller. Sharing content in a Zoom Room allows you to project presentations, documents, and videos directly from your device for all meeting participants to see.

Connect to the Zoom Room

Using an iPad:

  1. Ensure your iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Zoom Room.
  2. Open the Zoom Rooms Controller app on your iPad.
  3. Select the Zoom Room you want to control.
  4. Once connected, tap the Share Content option from the main screen.

Using a Touchscreen Controller:

  1. On the Zoom Room’s touchscreen controller, tap the Share Content button on the home screen.
  2. You will now see options to share content wirelessly or via a connected device.

Choose Your Sharing Method

This is the main method for sharing content in a Zoom Room:

  • Wirelessly (via Zoom app or AirPlay)

A) Sharing Wirelessly Using the Zoom App (iPad or Computer):

  1. Tap Share Content on your iPad or Zoom Room touchscreen controller.
  2. A prompt with the Meeting ID and instructions will appear on the screen.
  3. Open the Zoom app on your iPad or computer and join the same meeting (you don’t need to enable audio or video).
  4. Select Share Screen in the Zoom app and enter the Meeting ID shown in the room display.
  5. You can now select what content to share from your iPad (e.g., your screen, photos, documents).

Note:

  • On iPad, you can share an entire screen or specific apps such as Photos, Safari, or any presentation app.
  • When sharing, you can control the flow and zoom in/out on specific sections.

B) Sharing Wirelessly Using AirPlay (for iOS Devices):

  1. Tap Share Content on your iPad or Zoom Room touchscreen controller.
  2. A prompt will appear showing the AirPlay name for the Zoom Room.
  3. On your iOS device (iPhone or iPad), swipe down from the upper-right corner to open the Control Center.
  4. Tap Screen Mirroring and select the Zoom Room AirPlay device that matches the name on the screen.
  5. Enter the AirPlay code that appears on the Zoom Room display to start mirroring your device.

Step 3: Managing Shared Content

Pause or Stop Sharing:

  • On iPad: Tap the Stop Sharing or Pause Share button in the Zoom Rooms Controller app.
  • On Touchscreen Controller: Tap the Stop Share button on the screen to end sharing. To pause the share, tap the Pause button.

Annotate Shared Content (Zoom Rooms for Touch-enabled Displays):

  • If you’re using a Zoom Room with a touch display, you can annotate directly on the shared content by selecting the Annotate option.
  • Use the pen, highlighter, or shape tools to draw or highlight key points.

Step 4: Ending Content Sharing

When you’re done presenting:

  1. Tap the Stop Sharing button on the Zoom Rooms Controller (iPad or touchscreen) to end the content share.
  2. The Zoom Room will return to the standard meeting interface, allowing you to continue the discussion or share new content.

Tips:

  • AirPlay: Ensure that your iOS device and Zoom Room are on the same network for AirPlay to work.
  • Zoom App Sharing: For smoother sharing, make sure the Zoom app on your iPad or laptop is updated to the latest version.
